Horse Down.

I first heard about The Palio in a book I read entitled "Too Much Tuscan Sun", this is a very rag tag event, it's almost the demolishion derby of medieval times carried on. These rivalries go back centuries and there is much intense fervor during the event.

Had Hemmingway been in Italy, not Spain, he might have written about The Palio and not The Running of The Bulls.
